About the Company:
A diversified logistics and marine operations company in Cabo Delgado, committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. The company provides a range of maritime and port services, ensuring reliable and compliant operations across its activities. We are seeking five skilled and experienced Coastal Masters / Harbor Masters to join our team and ensure safe, efficient, and professional handling of vessels within port and coastal areas.
1. Responsibilities:
- Assist the pilot in berthing and unberthing of vessels arriving at the port;
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out safely and according to instructions provided by the pilot and other superiors;
- Coordinate and perform towing maneuvers of other vessels in open sea, restricted waters, and during docking operations;
- Inspect all equipment, machinery, and deck elements to support maritime operations;
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with regulations and recommendations issued by international maritime conventions;
- Plan, conduct, and regularly update onboard safety exercises in accordance with SOLAS requirements;
- Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or malfunctions of the tugboat or assisted vessel to the pilot and Port Control Tower, and submit a written report before the vessel leaves the port;
- Prepare, maintain, and verify records and reports of services provided during vessel assistance;
- Plan and recommend training programs or courses to superiors.
2.Requirements and Qualifications:
- Certification in seamanship or related fields;
- Maritime competency certificate or license;
- Coastal Master (Harbor Master) certificate or license recognized by competent authorities;
- Qualification certificates for firefighting operations, first aid, basic safety, and sea survival;
- Basic knowledge of the English language.
3.Technical Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of towing methods and techniques (berthing and unberthing) and vessel handling;
- Strong understanding of navigation instruments;
- Knowledge of maritime laws and regulations;
- Familiarity with HSE rules;
- Ability to work effectively in a team;
- Strong technical learning capability.
